Jim Bognet was born into a big Italian-Irish family in Hazleton, PA, and he grew up surrounded by siblings and cousins in a tight-knit community at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Jim’s dad is a small business owner, building schools and doing construction projects for industries across northeastern Pennsylvania. Working construction with his dad taught Jim the value of hard work and saving money.
Jim’s mom is a retired high school business teacher who taught him the value of education and compassion. Jim played football, basketball, and baseball at Hazleton Area High School before graduating from Penn State University on a partial academic scholarship. Jim earned a law degree and MBA, worked hard, and started his own small business.
Liberal “leadership” has been catastrophic for NEPA. Biden and Cartwright are trying to run our country into the ground by mishandling Covid, to runaway inflation, to their attempts to borrow and spend $5 trillion.
I am running for Congress to STOP the Biden-Cartwright agenda in its tracks and to save our country from the socialist ideology that is currently controlling Washington, D.C.
I was blessed to work for President Trump’s administration creating manufacturing jobs to rebuild America’s industrial heartland. Some of the greatest honors of my life were working in the Trump administration, attending President Trump’s nomination acceptance speech at the White House in August 2020, and having President Trump’s endorsement in the 2020 election.
In 2020, I ran for Congress to fight against the Democrats’ witch hunt to remove President Trump from office. In that election, we saw Democrats break every rule they could to rig that election. Today, election reform is crucial to ensure fair elections. I will fight to eliminate no-excuse mail-in voting, require strong voter-ID, and support auditing the vote in Pennsylvania. We The People deserve honest and fair elections without Democrat dirty tricks.
The liberals’ war against American energy has killed many great jobs. Unlike Democrats, I support fracking to enhance our economy in NEPA. I support finishing President Trump’s Border Wall and ending our border crisis. I also support Making China Pay for what they have done to us.
I am running for Congress to ensure Republicans take back the House so Nancy Pelosi, her lapdog Matt Cartwright, and AOC can not hurt the people of NEPA anymore. We need to pick up where President Trump left off to advance his America First policies.

Jim has fought for conservative causes and Republican principles his whole life. From interning for GOP Senator Rick Santorum, to working on his first campaign for former Congressman Lou Barletta, Jim has always believed in making his community better through conservative policies.
During the 2016 campaign, Jim attended the 2016 GOP Convention in Cleveland, Ohio to support President Trump. Jim is proud that Pennsylvania was the key state that put Donald J. Trump over the top to be elected President.
President Trump appointed Jim to a position in his administration to help rebuild our industrial heartland and to create jobs, support small businesses, and promote “Made in America” products around the world.
We need to get back to President Trump’s America First policies and pass legislation that strengthens our economy and secures our border. Jim will represent Pennsylvania’s 8th District in Washington to focus on results – for you, your family, and all Northeastern Pennsylvania.

I have fought against Tom Wolf and Kathy Boockvar all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court over the mail-in vote in Pennsylvania. I have continued to push to secure our elections and audit the 2020 vote. I will fight to require a strong voter-ID for all ballots, and audit the vote. No drop boxes, no non-signature verified mail-in ballots, and no more rigged elections!
Economy & Jobs
STOP the Tax and Spending Avalanche
President Trump’s administration passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017 which bolstered the U.S. economy, helped small businesses grow, and returned money into the pockets of hardworking Americans across the country. Democrats today are fighting to reverse historic progress by spending trillions of dollars on a socialist wish list that will increase taxes on the middle class and hurt businesses here in NEPA.
The Democrats’ spending spree has already caused sky-high inflation on many products and has increased the cost of gas at the pump to jaw-dropping numbers. I will never support a bill filled with trillions of dollars of woke nonsense and tax increases. I will fight against the Democrats proposed tax increases and push for lower taxes that will help small businesses thrive and bolster the middle class.
Health & Education
Improve Health Care
Every American deserves high quality health care they can afford. Democrats in Congress want to double down on the disaster that was Obamacare and usher in a new era of higher prices, less access and greater control by government bureaucrats. Socialized medicine is not the answer to our health care challenges.
In Congress, I will fight to protect Americans with pre-existing conditions, and make sure they are not denied insurance and health care. I will work to stop the skyrocketing increases brought on by Biden, Pelosi, and Cartwright’s doomed policies, ensuring every American has access to affordable health care. I believe that we need more transparency in health care pricing, and better cost controls throughout the system, while expanding options and choices for patients.
Defend Parents’ Rights and Stop CRT
In Congress, I will fight to ban teaching kids to hate one another and not allow liberals to indoctrinate students with their “woke” Critical Race Theory. CRT is used to divide students, teach them to distrust and divide them from their classmates, and it has no place in the classroom. We must defend our children from “woke” indoctrination in their schools.
I believe parents have a right to have a strong voice on what their children get taught in school. We need to make sure parents are the key decision makers in their children’s education and make sure we hire great teachers who put children first, not loyalty to a progresive ideology. From failing school districts to divisive curriculum to COVID mandates, liberals have politicized our education system and I will fight to return freedom and choice to parents and students.
Human Rights
Defend Our Second Amendment Rights
Our Founding Fathers believed Second Amendment rights were central to preventing tyranny and an oppressive central government. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their liberal friends want to take those rights away. Their gun-grabbing policies endanger the Constitution and make our communities less safe.
I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, and I will fight to protect each American’s right to bear arms. Second Amendment protections are especially important to women, and I will fight to make sure they can defend themselves and their homes by exercising their fundamental constitutional rights. In Congress, I will work tirelessly to guarantee that law-abiding citizens maintain the right to protect themselves and their families.
