2024 PA Senate Race

The 2024 United States Senate election in Pennsylvania was held on November 5, 2024.  The seat was previously held by Bob Casey.

The two leading candidates were Bob Casey – Democrat and David McCormick – Republican. Dave McCormick ousted Democratic Sen. Bob Casey in one of the most expensive Senate races this cycle. McCormick’s win came after he trailed Casey for virtually all of the race.

2024 PA 07 – US House Race

The 2024 United States House District 7 election in Pennsylvania was held on November 5, 2024.  The seat was held by Susan Wild.

The two leading candidates are Susan Wild – Democrat and Ryan Mackenzie – Republican.  Ryan Mackensie received 203,621 votes and Susan Wild 199,406 votes.

Wild spent the last two months of 2018 as the member for Pennsylvania’s 15th congressional district after Charlie Dent resigned in 2018. From September 2022 to January 2023 , she was chair of the House Ethics Committee. She continues to sit on the committee as ranking member. She also co-chairs the New Democrat Coalition Climate Change Task Force and is vice chair of both the Congressional Labor and Working Families Caucus and the Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations. Wild is the first woman to represent the Lehigh Valley in Congress.

The two leading candidates are Matt Cartwright – Democrat and Rob Bresnahan Jr. – Republican.

For 24 years, Cartwright worked as an attorney and partner at Munley, Munley and Cartwright, a Scranton firm representing victims, consumers and small businesses in personal and business litigation.

Between 2005 and 2011, Cartwright was the on-air legal analyst for The Law & You. In the segment, aired nightly as part of NBC affiliate WBRE-TV’s evening newscast, he fielded viewer questions on legal matters.

David McCormick – PA

David Harold McCormick (born August 17, 1965) is an American businessman and politician. McCormick served as the CEO of Bridgewater Associates, one of the world’s largest hedge funds, from 2020 to 2022. He is the husband of former Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy, Dina Powell.

A member of the Republican Party, McCormick served as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. Bush administration. In January 2022, McCormick announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring incumbent Pat Toomey. He lost to surgeon Mehmet Oz in the Republican primary by fewer than 1,000 votes
